How do I use the Silph Tracker?

Begin a hunt when a Pokemon you want to track appears on your Sightings list. Tall grass will show the possible spawn locations. Then, head out and hit the pavement, simply adding reports when the Pokemon you're tracking falls off or stays on your `Sightings` list! Drag the map to place the crosshairs at your report location, then push the buttons at the bottom of the map.

How is this possible?

Your `Sightings` list shows spawns inside a 200m radius. Pokemon within a 50m radius will appear on your in-game map. This knowledge allows you to eliminate tall grass similarly to drawing Venn diagrams!

What if I have 9+ Pokemon on the Sightings?

If you suspect a Pokemon has fallen off your Sightings list by being replaced by another, rather than de-spawning, try catching a few of the Pokemon cluttering your Sightings list to pare down the list!

How long do I have to hunt?

Pokemon spawns currently last 30 minutes minimum. So as long as you're not beginning in the tail end of that spawn period, you should have plenty of time to hunt!

I eliminated all the tall grass, but I didn't find it?

Simply click Clear and try again!

This can be caused by lag, or if there are 2 of the species in your area. If you suspect the latter, try heading far off in one direction until the species you're hunting falls off the scanner. That is now confirmed to be 200m from one spawn. Try to work around the radius of that 200m ring and narrow down the center.
