Greetings, travelers! The end of the year is approaching, but 2019 brings us even more surprises. From November 19th to November 26th, the Supereffective Week event is taking place, bringing a plethora of new raid bosses and increased spawns of Pokémon that are supereffective against Team GO Rocket. New events are often accompanied by the release of a new shiny Pokémon, and this time, the Jellyfish Pokémon Tentacool is now blooming in its shiny form!
As always, our dedicated group of Silph Road Researchers have been busy catching in order to determine the shiny rate of Tentacool. Let’s dive into the findings to see what we’ve uncovered so far!
Update 11/22/2019 3:00 UTC
Researchers have caught a total of 8,376 Tentacool, with 23 of them being shiny. While these data are a bit luckier than one would expect for an unboosted shiny rate, they provide no significant statistical evidence for a boosted shiny Tentacool shiny rate (99% confidence interval of 1 in 225 – 670).
We will update this article as the event progresses, so check back as more reports come in! Until then, happy catching, and safe travels!
